Trinucleotide repeat expansion in the Huntingtin gene is the main cause of Huntington's disease. Huntington's disease causes damage to brain cells.

TREATMENT OF HUNTINGTON'S DISEASE

There is no specific treatment of Huntington's disease. Drug treatments are useful in the treatment of Huntington's disease. In the case of depression antidepressants (flextime) may helpful. Mood stabilizers and antipsychotic drugs are used in the emotional disturbances.
