Ollier Disease

Ollier Disease is very uncommon skeletal disorder. Multiple enchondromatosis, multiple cartilaginous enchondroses, dyschondroplasia, enchondromatosis, chondrodysplasia, hemichondrodysplasia, hemichondrodystrophy, internal chondromatosis, multiple enchondromata syndrome, osteochondromatosis syndrome are various names of
ollier disease. Ollier disease may be congenital means children may have this disorder by birth. Generally ollier disease affects both, men and women and occurs at any time of your age.

Ollier Disease is a disease in which patients have abnormal bone development. Ollier Disease affects the growing ends of our bones and due to which round nonossified cartilaginous masses distributed widely throughout the bone skeleton and produce asymmetrical and swelling of joints.

Causes:

Ollier Disease affects generally long bones like pelvis bones, cartilage of the joints and bones of hands. There is no one exact cause of happening ollier disease but sometimes it happens in children by inheritance through their parents.

Symptoms & Treatment:

Symptoms of ollier disease include abnormal fingers because of abnormal growth of bones. Because of Ollier Disease fingers have buds of enlarged bones. No perfect treatment is there for ollier disease but surgery may be helpful of affected area. By surgery, surgeon cut the enlarged part of bone of affected area.
