INFORMATION ON RUBEOSIS:-
Rubeosis may be defined as the growth of abnormal blood vessel on iris and the structure in the front of the retina, as with diabetic retinopathy or vein occlusion then abnormal vessels forced to supply oxygen to the eye. Formation of these vessels obstructs the drainage of fluid from the eye, this results increase in eye pressure. It can also lead to neovascular glaucoma.
CAUSES OF RUBEOSIS:-
The factors which leads to the development of Rubeosis are:-
1. Diabetic retinopathy.
2. Vein occlusion.
SYMPTOMS OF RUBEOSIS:-
1. Visible weakly developed blood vessels on iris.
TREATMENT OF RUBEOSIS:-
The treatment of Rubeosis is similar to the treatment to diabetic retinopathy and vein occlusion should be considered.
