ENTROPION

INFORMATION ON ENTROPION:-

Entropion is a disorder which arises due to the inward turn of the eye lashes, specially the lower one. As a result of inward direction of eyelashes continuous rubbing of eye with lashes take place every time when a person blink. Due to this continuous brushing of lashes with eye a patient gets use to of the event but eyes do not, as a result of which increase in production of tears and white mucus like puss build up. If Entropion is left untreated it can result in eye ulcer.


CAUSES OF ENTROPION:-

The various cause which leads to the development of Entropion are:-

1. Result of previous infection.
2. Loss in the strength of tissue.
3. Surgical process.



SYMPTOMS OF ENTROPION:-

1. Burning eyes.
2. Irritation in eyes.
3. Red color of eye.
4. Sagging of skin around eyes.
5. Sensitiveness to light and wind.


TREATMENT OF ENTROPION:-

Surgery is the only option in order to treat Entropion. Only by surgery the direction of turn of the lashes can be changed. No other means of treatment is suitable to turn the direction of lashes.
