Information on Drainage from the eyes
Small to large amounts of drainage oozing out from the eyes due to irritation, a foreign body, or infection. The drainage gets collected on the eyelashes and dries, sticking the lashes often leading to swelling during night.
Symptoms on Drainage from the eyes
Yellow or green discharge in the eye
Dried pus on the eyelids and eyelashes
Sticking of eyelids especially while sleeping
Varying redness or pinkness in the white of eye
Puffy appearance of eye due to irritation from the infection
Blurred vision, loss of vision, blood in the eye, or red eye
Eye injury
Seems as if there is object in the eye

Bacterial infection

Treatment of Drainage from the eyes
Use of glasses instead of Contact lenses.

Use of Cold or Warm compresses.

Cool compresser - If suffering from an allergy
Warm, moist compresser - If suffering from an infection; it would reduce its redness and swelling. Different compresser must be used for each eye; and a new one for every cleaning. Proper way of wiping must be followed from inside towards outside. Proper hygiene should be maintained.

Affected person should not go to work or attend school or office.

Viral pinkeye cannot be improved by medication, home treatment is effective.

Bacterial pinkeye can be improved with an antibiotic within 24 hours which kills the bacteria.

Use of medications such as Eye drops and Eye ointments.
