Use of glasses instead of Contact lenses.Use of Cold or Warm compresses.
Cool compresser - If suffering from an allergy
Warm, moist compresser - If suffering from an infection; it would reduce its redness and swelling. Different compresser must be used for each eye; and a new one for every cleaning. Proper way of wiping must be followed from inside towards outside. Proper hygiene should be maintained.
Affected person should not go to work or attend school or office.
Viral pinkeye cannot be improved by medication, home treatment is effective.
Bacterial pinkeye can be improved with an antibiotic within 24 hours which kills the bacteria.
Use of medications such as Eye drops and Eye ointments.
