DIABETIC RETINOPATHY

INFORMATION ON DIABETIC RETINOPATHY:-
Diabetic retinopathy is the problem related to eyes due the effect of diabetes. Generally person who is suffering from diabetes may also suffer from diabetic retinopathy. As long as person carries diabetes with him, the chance of suffering from diabetes retinopathy also increases.

Diabetes retinopathy is of two type:-

1. Nonproliferative.
2. Proliferative.

Nonproliferative affects the size of the blood vessels and can result to hemorrhaging. Nonproliferative is not too serious, but harmful conditions may also develop.

In proliferative type form the retina will not receive enough blood. Even though if formation of new weak blood vessels occurs, it usually breaks and hence results in altered vision.

CAUSES OF DIABETIC RETINOPATHY:-
The only cause which leads to the diabetic retinopathy is the changes in blood sugar level which leads to diabetes.
SYMPTOMS OF DIABETIC RETINOPATHY:-
The main symptoms of diabetic retinopathy are:-

1. Blurry vision.
2. Formation of mucus.
3. Spots in eyes.
TREATMENT OF DIABETIC RETINOPATHY:-
In order to get relief from diabetic retinopathy one should regularly take medicines such as insulin in order to control blood sugar level. Balance diet should also be maintained, as improper diet can also lead to change in blood sugar level.

Besides the above method one can opt for laser treatment. But laser treatment can also result in loss of vision, bleeding and scarring. Laser treatment is designed for stopping of the spreading of the disease but not to improve vision.
