CONTACT LENS PROBLEM

INFORMATION ON CONTACT LENSES:-
Contact lens is basically a thin plastic plate that float on a film of tears and applied on the top of the cornea. Contact lenses are compact replica to eye sight glass. Contact lenses are very light and small as compared to glasses and seen by many peoples as cosmetic improvement to glasses. Contact lenses can be used as vision improver like glasses. Contact lenses are available in various numbers and in various colors according to ones need.

 There are mainly two types of contact lenses:-
1. Soft contact lenses.
2. Gas permeable lenses.
Soft contact lenses
Soft contact lenses are made up of soft and highly flexible plastic that fix itself according to the shape of cornea.
Soft contact lenses comes in different variation one which can be used in daily wear but have to be clean each night with solution and must be kept in that solution and the another one is extended wear lenses which are disposable in nature and can be used upto six days and must be disposed after a week or a months time.
Gas permeable lenses
Gas permeable lenses are made up of slightly flexible material and the main plus point with these contact lenses is it tendency to pass oxygen between lens and cornea. Gas permeable lenses also come in daily wear and extended wear type as that of soft contact lenses.

PROBLEMS ASSOCIATED WITH CONTACT LENS ARE:-

The various problems associated with contact lens are:-

1. Wearing of contact lenses can leads to allergic reaction if contact lens is not cleaned properly, wear while sleeping and use of saliva to moisten the contact part.

2. Allergy can also be result in when pollen sticks to the contact part of contact lens.

3. Allergy can also result due to the preservative solution of contact lens. Some people are very sensitive to preservative material that comes with contact lenses.

4. If cornea does not get enough oxygen then it results in abnormal growth of blood vessels hence result in cornea damage.

5. Over wearing of contact lens for too long period can make the eyes feel tired, dry gritty. This condition comes into play with new wearer of contact lens.

6. Contact lenses can cause allergy if a person wears in dusty, too hot envoirment.
