INFORMATION ON CHALAZION:-

Chalazion is an inflammation which do not results in infection but it can result in formation of little lump on the eyelid. Because of chalazion one can complain about pain with swelling.

CAUSES OF CHALAZION:-

The main factor which leads to the development of chalazion is the blockage of oil gland near eye which forms a pimple kike lump.

SYMPTOMS OF CHALAZION:-

1. Formation of lump.
2. Pain in eye due to lump.
3. Red color eye.
4. Swelling on eye.

TREATMENT OF CHALAZION:-

Chalazion can be treated with antibiotic, eye drop or ointment if bacterial infection is one of the cause. If swelling due to lump formation is more then warm compresses can be one of the treatment if it is followed 2-4 times a day for 15 minutes.

Injection of steroid can come in to play if inflammation is more. If lump last for longer time such as 2-3 weeks then, surgical removal of lump can be employed.
