Motor Neuropathy
INFORMATION ON MOTOR NEUROPATHY:-
Motor neuropathy may be defined as a neurological disorder which is characterized by progressive weakness with multifocal distribution. We can also say that motor neuropathy is a progressive muscle disorder characterized by muscle weakness in the hands, with differences from one side of the body to the other in the specific muscles involved.
CAUSES OF MOTOR NEUROPATHY:-
The main consequence which is responsible for the development of motor neuropathy is mutation in gene.
SYMPTOMS OF MOTOR NEUROPATHY:-
1. Muscle weakness
2. Muscle atrophy
3. Muscle cramping
4. Symptoms start in arms or hands
5. Fasciculations
6. Loss of sensation.
DIAGNOSIS OF MOTOR NEUROPATHY:-
Clinically motor neuropathy can be diagnosed by:-
1. MRI.
2. Electromyography.
3. Ultrasound.
TREATMENT OF MOTOR NEUROPATHY:-
Treatment for motor neuropathy varies with the severity of the symptoms. Some of the subjects may experience only mild, modest symptoms and required no treatment. For others, treatment generally consists of intravenous immunoglobulin or cyclophosphamide therapy.
