Monomelic Amyotrophy
INFORMATION ON MONOMELIC AMYOTROPHY:-
Monomelic amyotrophy may be characterized by progressive degeneration and loss of motor neurons, the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord which are responsible for controlling voluntary muscle.
CAUSES OF MONOMELIC AMYOTROPHY:-
The main factors which are responsible for the development of Monomelic amyotrophic are:-
1. Infection
2. Trauma
3. Inflammation
4. Spinal cord disorder.
5. Entrapment
6. Altered immune mechanisms
7. Toxins
8. Physical agents, such as electrical or radiation injury
9. Genetic and enzyme defects.
SYMPTOMS OF MONOMELIC AMYOTROPHY:-
1. Muscle weakness.
2. Muscle twitching.
3. Muscle cramps.
4. Diabetes.
5. Difficulty in walking.
6. Foot deformity implies.
DIAGNOSIS OF MONOMELIC AMYOTROPHY:-
Clinically Monomelic amyotrophic can be diagnosed by:-
1. EMG.
2. MRI
3. CT scan.
4. MRI.
5. Ultrasound.
TREATMENT OF MONOMELIC AMYOTROPHY:-
There is no cure for Monomelic amyotrophic. Treatment consists of muscle strengthening exercises and training in hand coordination.
