Lyme Disease

INFORMATION ON LYME DISEASE:-
Lyme disease is an inflammatory disease which is characterized by flu-like symptoms, caused by the bacterium Borrelia burgdorferi transmitted by the bite of a deer tick.
CAUSE OF LYME DISEASE:-
The main factor which leads to the development of Lyme disease is deer tick which is the primary source of bacterium called Borrelia burgdorferi.
SYMPTOMS OF LYME DISEASE:-
1. Infection of skin.
2. Fever with chills.
3. Fatigue.
4. Joint pain.
5. Irregular heart beat.
6. Rashes.
7. Headache.
8. Sinus.
DIAGNOSES OF LYME DISEASE:-
Clinically Lyme disease can be diagnosed by:-

1. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) test.
2. Western blot test.
3. Polymerase chain reaction.
TREATMENT OF LYME DISEASE:-
The procedure for treatment of Lyme disease is followed by prescribing oral antibiotics namely doxycycline. If the disease has progressed doctor may recommend treatment with an intravenous antibiotic for 14 to 28 days. Intravenous antibiotics can cause various side effects.
