Kluver Bucy Syndrome

INFORMATION TO KLÜVER-BUCY SYNDROME:-
Klüver-Bucy syndrome may be defined as a rare neurological disorder that forces an individual to put objects in his/her mouth and engage in inappropriate sexual behavior.
CAUSES OF KLÜVER-BUCY SYNDROME:-
The factors which are responsible for development of Klüver-Bucy syndrome are:-

1. Facial or cerebral trauma.
2. Infections.
3. Alzheimer's disease.
4. Niemann Pick disease of the brain.
5. Cerebrovascular disease.
SYMPTOMS OF KLÜVER-BUCY SYNDROME:-
1. Inability to visually recognize the objects.
2. Loss of normal fear and anger responses.
3. Memory loss.
4. Distractibility.
5. Seizures.
6. Dementia.
7. Brain failure.
DIAGNOSIS OF KLÜVER-BUCY SYNDROME:-
Clinical method for determining Klüver-Bucy syndrome is:-

1. Neuroimaging
2. Frontotemporal dementia
3. MRI
4. SPECT
TREATMENT OF KLÜVER-BUCY SYNDROME:-
There is no cure for Klüver-Bucy syndrome. The disorder is not life-threatening, but the patient can be difficult to manage. With treatment, symptoms may slowly decline.
Treatment may be symptomatic and supportive, and may include drug therapy.
