Hydranencephaly can be defined as congenital conditions that causes the abnormal development of the budding nervous system.
Causes of Hydranencephaly
The causes of Hydranencephaly includes genetic defect, a trauma that occurs after the twelth week of pregnancy.Anothere cause of Hydranencephaly is Maternal exposure to carbon monoxide during initial stage of pregnancy.
Signs and Symptoms of Hydranencephaly
Symptoms of Hydranencephaly includes -
1) Seizures
2) Poor vision
3) Poor or no growth
4) Deafness
5) Paralysis
6) Language difficulty
Treatment of Hydranencephaly
There is no specific treatment of Hydranencephaly. Only symptomatic treatment is useful in the case of Hydranencephaly. To control seizures medications may helpful. Hydrocephalus may be treated with a shunt.
