There is no cure for giant cell inclusion. Typically, good hygiene, including proper hand washing, is recommended to avoid transmission of the virus from person to person. Antiviral drugs such as ganciclovir and acyclovir can be administered, particularly to AIDS patients to reduce the amount of virus in the body. These drugs are taken throughout life. There are no vaccines for giant cell inclusion disease.
