Developmental Dyspraxia

INTRODUCTION TO DEVELOPMENTAL DYSPRAXIA:-

Developmental dyspraxia is a neurologically based disorder of speech. Developmental dyspraxia is caused by impairment of brain or malfunctioning of brain.


CAUSES OF DEVELOPMENTAL DYSPRAXIA:-

The factors which leads to the development of dyspraxia are:-

1. Injury to a part of brain.
2. Genetic disorder.


SYMPTOMS OF DEVELOPMENTAL DYSPRAXIA:-

1. Loss of ability to speak correctly.
2. Brain losses its capability to send signal for particular movement.
3. Coordination and sensation ability get decreased.


DIAGNOSIS OF DEVELOPMENTAL DYSPRAXIA:-

The developmental dyspraxia can be diagnosed by closely observe developmental history, detailing ages at which significant developmental milestones, such as crawling and walking, occurred. Comparing children to normal rates of development may help to establish areas of significant difficulty.

TREATMENT OF DEVELOPMENTAL DYSPRAXIA:-

Treatment of developmental dyspraxia is symptomatic and supportive. Treatment also includes occupational and speech therapy or other forms of communication such as using pictures and hand gestures.
