Dermatomyositis
INFORMATION ON DERMATOMYOSITIS:-
Dermatomyositis is a rare disease characterized by muscle weakness and a distinctive skin rash. Because of similarities in signs, symptoms and treatment, dermatomyositis is often discussed in conjunction with polymyositis.
CAUSES OF DERMATOMYOSITIS:-
The main events which leads to the development of dermatomyositis are:-
1. Autoimmune disorders.
2. Inflammatory muscles.
3. Virus.
4. Bacteria.
5. Genetic instability.
SYMPTOMS OF DERMATOMYOSITIS:-
1. Lungs problem.
2. Muscles pain.
3. Fatigue.
4. Fever.
5. Deposition of calcium under skin.
DIAGNOSIS OF DERMATOMYOSITIS:-
Dermatomyositis clinically can be identified by following tests:-
1. Blood test.
2. Biopsy.
3. Electromyography.
4. MRI.
5. Ultrasonography.
TREATMENT OF DERMATOMYOSITIS:-
The dermatomyositis disease is treated with medicines like corticosteroid and immunosuppressive drugs. When strength of muscle is gained, then medication is slowly stopped.
