INFORMATION ON ARNOLD-CHIARI MALFORMATION
Arnold-Chiari malformation also known as 'Chiari malformation' or ACM is a congenital anomaly of the brain in which the cerebellar tonsils are elongated and pushed down through the opening of the base of the skull blocking the flow of cerebrospinal fluid.
CAUSES OF ARNOLD-CHIARI MALFORMATION
The factors which leads to the development of Arnold-Chiari malformation are:-
1. Genetic disturbance.
2. Develop from birth.

1. Dizziness.
2. Muscle weakness.
3. Numbness.
4. Vision problems.
5. Headache.
6. Problems with balance and coordination.
7. Neck pain.
DIAGNOSIS OF ARNOLD-CHIARI MALFORMATION
Clinical methods for determination of Arnold-Chiari malformation are:-
1. MRI.
2. CT scan.
TREATMENT OF ARNOLD-CHIARI MALFORMATION
Medications may ease certain symptoms, such as pain. Surgery is the only treatment available to correct functional disturbances or halt the progression of damage to the central nervous system. More than one surgery may be needed to treat the condition.
