Apraxia
INFORMATION ON APRAXIA:-
Apraxia may be defines as neurological disorder that is characterized by loss of the ability to execute familiar movements, despite having the desire and the physical ability to perform that movements.
CAUSES OF APRAXIA:-
The factors which result in suffering from Apraxia are:-
1. Dementia.
2. Stroke.
3. Hemodialysis (prolonged).
4. Neurodegenerative illness.
5. Brain tumor.
SYMPTOMS OF APRAXIA:-
1. Confusion or disorientation
2. Memory loss
3. Weakness.
4. Paralysis of any body part.
5. Numbness or tingling of any body part
6. Seizures.
DIAGNOSIS OF APRAXIA:-
Following are the clinical method for determining presence of Apraxia in human body:-
1. CT scan.
2. MRI of the head or affected area
3. Blood tests
4. Lumbar puncture
5. X-ray
TREATMENT OF APRAXIA:-
Generally, treatment for Apraxia includes physical therapy, occupational therapy or speech therapy. If Apraxia is a symptom of another disorder, the following disorder should be treated.
