Aneurysm
INFORMATION ON ANEURYSM:-
Aneurysm may be defined as localized dilation or ballooning of a blood vessel by more than half of the diameter of the vessel and can lead to instant death at anytime. The most common region for the occurrence of Aneurysms is arteries, base of the brain and in the aorta (artery coming out of the heart).
CAUSES OF ANEURYSM:-
The factors which leads to aneurysm are:-
1. Diabetes.
2. High blood pressure.
3. Alcoholism.
4. Smoking.
5. Insomnia.
RISK OF ANEURYSM:-
Rupture and blood clotting are the main risks involved with aneurysms. Rupture of blood vessels leads to drop in blood pressure, heart rate, and lightheadedness. The probability of death is high as a result of rapture. Blood clots from popliteal arterial aneurysms can travel downstream and weakens the tissue. Only if the resulting pain and numbness are ignored over a significant period of time will such extreme results as amputation be needed.
DIAGNOSIS OF ANEURYSM:-
In order to evaluate aneurysm following test should be perform:-
1. Physical exam.
2. Ultrasound examination.
3. CT scan.
TREATMENT OF ANEURYSM:-
For treating aneurysm surgery called endovascular repair is recommended. The time of surgery and time depends upon the severity of aneurysm.
