What is Necrotizing glomerulonephritis
Necrotizing glomerulonephritis is known as a Crescentic glomerulonephritis , Rapidly progressive glomerulonephritis, Glomerulonephritis - crescentic. It can be defined as a form of renal disease that results the failure of the internal renal structures and rapid loss of the function .
Causes of Necrotizing glomerulonephritis
The glomeruli are the area where blood flows through very small capillaries and is filtered through membranes to form urine. Necrotizing glomerulonephritis can lead to any type of glomerulonephritis that causes the rapid loss of kidney function occurs over weeks to months. Necrotizing glomerulonephritis may also results renal kidney failure , acute nephritic syndrome and end-stage renal disease .
The disorder is more common in certain geographic areas and people aged 40 to 60 . polyarteritis,collagen vascular disease such as lupus nephritis and Henoch-Schonlein purpura ,Goodpasture's syndrome,membranoproliferative GN,membrane antibody disease,anti-glomerular basement ,lymphatic system disorders are some diseases that increases the risk for developing this syndrome.
Signs and Symptoms of Necrotizing glomerulonephritis
Common Symptoms of Necrotizing glomerulonephritis are given below -
1) Blooded urine
2) Swelling (face ,eyes,feet,ankles,abdomen)
3) Rust colored urine
4) Decrease urine output
Fever,Cough,Loss of Appetite, Diarrhea, Abdominal pain, Shortness of breath and Myalgia are some other symptoms.
Treatment of Necrotizing glomerulonephritis
The treatment of this disease is depends of its causes .For relieve symptoms ,corticosteroids may helpful.The medication includes cyclophosphamide and azathioprine. Plasmapheresis may also be use in the treatment of this disease. The blood plasma containing antibodies is removed and replaced with intravenous fluids or donated plasma .It may reduce inflammation in the kidney tissues.In the severe cases dialysis or a kidney transplant may ultimately be necessary.
Prevention
The prompt treatment of causative disorders may prevent the development of Necrotizing glomerulonephritis
