Membranoproliferative GN I
What is Membranoproliferative GN I
Membranoproliferative GN I can be defined as a renal disorder that caused by an inflammation and changes in the microscopic structure of the renal cells . It can results the disrupted renal function. Mesangiocapillary glomerulonephritis (type I), Lobular GN, Glomerulonephritis - membranoproliferative (type I), MPGN type I are some alternative names of this disease .
Causes of Membranoproliferative GN I
The glomeruli are the inner structures of the kidney.Glomeruli includes small capillaries which are surrounded by membranes ( through which the blood is filtered to form urine ).This inflammation results the Glomerulonephritis and Membranoproliferative GN I is a form of Glomerulonephritis , caused by abnormal immune response. In this disease , some cells in the capillary wall may increases and the parts of the glomerular membranes change in structure.
In several forms, Membranoproliferative GN I may present .This is manifested as abnormal urinalysis, acute nephritic syndrome, nephrotic syndrome .
Signs And Symptoms of Membranoproliferative GN I
Common symptoms are given below -
1) Swelling ( In any part of the body)
2) Some mental changes
3) Decrease urine output
4) Cloudy or foamy urine
5) Rust colored urine
Treatment of Membranoproliferative GN I
Treatment of Membranoproliferative GN I is depends on the symptoms. The proper treatment can reduce symptoms, growth of the disorder. Cytotoxic agents, Steroids and Dipyridamole are benifitial in the treatment of Membranoproliferative GN I .Treatment of this disease may also includes some dietary restrictions such as restrictions on sodium ,protein and fluids. It is also necessary to control high blood pressure and swelling .Diuretics or other medications are helpful for reducing swelling. To manage renal failure, Dialysis or kidney transplant may required.
Prevention

Membranoproliferative GN II
What is Membranoproliferative GN II
Membranoproliferative GN II is also known as a Membranoproliferative Glomerulonephritis (Type II),MPGN II,Mesangiocapillary Glomerulonephritis (Type II). Membranoproliferative GN II can be defined as a renal disorder that caused by an inflammation and changes in the tissues of internal renal structure.
Causes of Membranoproliferative GN II
The glomeruli are the inner structures of the kidney.Glomeruli includes small capillaries which are surrounded by membranes ( through which the blood is filtered to form urine ).This inflammation results the Glomerulonephritis and Membranoproliferative GN II is a form of Glomerulonephritis , caused by abnormal immune response. Type II MPGN involves deposits within the glomerular basement membrane.
Membranoproliferative GN II is much less common than MPGN I .It may affect both males and females. The effect of this disorder is very similar in both forms of MPGN. MPGN II also tends to have a more rapid progression to end stage renal disease than does MPGN I.
MPGN may present as acute nephritic syndrome, nephrotic syndrome, or abnormal urinalysis without symptoms.

Treatment of Membranoproliferative GN II
Treatment of Membranoproliferative GN II is almost similar from the treatment of Membranoproliferative GN I. Treatment of Membranoproliferative GN II is depends on the symptoms. The proper treatment can reduce symptoms, growth of the disorder. Treatment of this disease may also includes some dietary restrictions such as restrictions on sodium ,protein and fluids. It is also necessary to control high blood pressure and swelling .Diuretics or other medications are helpful for reducing swelling.
