Chronic Nephritis is defined as an allergic disease (which is caused by a variety of etiological factors). This disease is very common in young adults and people of middle aged. According to medical terms there are three types of Chronic Nephritis.
1) Common Type - Quantity of urinary protein is between 1.5g to 3.5g per day.
2) Nephritic type - Quantity of urinary protein is greater then 3.5g.
3) Hypertensive type - In this type of Chronic Nephritis, a persistent hypertension is the predominant manifestation.
Alternative name of this disease is chronic glomerulonephritis.
Causes of Chronic Nephritis
Chronic Nephritis occurs because of slow, progressive destruction of the glomeruli of the renal, with contineous loss of renal function .when kidney unable to do filtration properly then Chronic Nephritis occurs. This results in blood and protein in the urine. It may be discovered as a cause of high blood pressure that is difficult to control.
Signs and Symptoms of Chronic Nephritis
Symptoms of Chronic Nephritis are given below-

1) Blood in the urine
2) Foamy urine
3) generalized itching
4) Headache
5) Nausea and vomiting
6) Unintentional weight loss
7) Frequent hiccups
8) Decreased urine output
9) Muscle twitching
10) Seizures
11) Increased skin pigmentation
12) Decreased sensation
Treatment of Chronic Nephritis
Treatment of Chronic Nephritis is depending on the cause of the disorder, and the type and severity of symptoms. The main goal of treatment is to control of symptoms. Control of High blood pressure is most important aspect of treatment. Current therapy includes aggressive treatment of high blood pressure with ACE inhibitors or angiogenesis receptor blockers to slow the progression of kidney failure.
Medications are also very useful to control the high blood pressure. Immunosuppressive or Corticosteroids other medications may be used to treat some of the causes of chronic Nephritis.
Dietary restrictions on fluids, salt, protein and other substances may be recommended to help control of high blood pressure or renal failure.
Prevention
There is no particular prevention for most cases of chronic Nephritis. Some cases may be prevented by avoiding or limiting exposure to organic solvents, mercury, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory analgesics.
