Liver Cysts
A Hepatic Cyst is a thin-walled "bubble" or cavity in the liver that may be empty or contain fluid. One of the liver’s important functions is producing and excreting bile. Bile flows into the intestine through the bile ducts. The bile ducts in the liver are like the branches of a tree, that come together just below the stomach. A side branch leads to an organ storing bile, the gallbladder.
Liver Cysts disease can take several forms. These can be
1. Choledochal cysts
2. Caroli's syndrome
3. Polycystic liver disease
Symptoms of Liver Cysts
If these liver cysts become very large, they can cause liver enlargement, abdominal pain, bile duct infection, or obstruction of the bile ducts, causing the cyst itself to become infected.
Diagnosis of Liver Cysts
