What is cirrhosis?
Cirrhosis is referred to a group of chronic liver diseases in which normal liver cells are damaged and replaced by scar tissue, decreasing the amount of normal liver tissue. The destruction of the normal architecture and the loss of liver cells prevent the liver from functioning normally.
TYPES OF CIRRHOSIS:-
1. Nutritional cirrhosis.
2. Biliary cirrhosis.
3. Cirrhosis hepatitis like hepatitis B & hepatitis C.
CAUSES OF CIRRHOSIS:-
1. Long term alcoholism.
2. Chronic infection of liver.
3. Injury of liver.
4. Exposure to toxic substance.
5. Prescribed medicine’s reaction.
6. Obesity.
7. Autoimmune hepatitis
8. Blocked bile ducts
SYMPTOMS OF CIRRHOSIS:-
1. Constipation.
2. Diarrhea.
3. Fatigue.
4. Indigestion.
5. Loss of appetite.
6. Nausea.
7. Vomiting.
8. Slight abdominal pain.
9. Weakness.
10. Weight loss.
11. Loss of appetite.
12. Musty breath.
DIAGNOSIS OF CIRRHOSIS:-
1. Blood test.
2. Urine test.
3. Liver biopsy.
4. Measurement of hyaluronic acid test.
PREVENTION FROM CIRRHOSIS:-
1. Medicinal treatment.
2. Operational treatment.
MEDICINAL TREATMENT OF CIRRHOSIS:-
The medicinal treatment of cirrhosis can be carried out by prescribing iron supplement, diuretic & antibiotics. Vasoconstrictors can come in to play to stop internal bleeding.
OPERATIONAL TREATMENT OF CIRRHOSIS:-
If problem become serious and medicinal treatment is not giving relief then surgical or operative method can be employed.
Operative method includes liver transplantation.
