Alcoholic Liver Diseases
Liver disease specifically caused by alcohol is called "alcoholic liver disease" to distinguish it from other causes of liver. Alcohol affects many organ systems of the body, but perhaps most notably affected are the central nervous system and the liver. Excessive alcohol use can lead to acute and chronic liver disease.
Alcohol abuse generally leads to three pathologically distinct liver diseases.
