Candidacies is the other name given to yeast infection. Yeast-like fungus called Candida causes yeast infection; generally our body has the right balance of bacteria and other factors to keep these yeast infections growing too much. But many times these yeast-like fungi develop too much, and this causes yeast infection. Usually warm, moist parts of the body, such as the mouth and moist areas of skin are more prone to yeast infections. Infection in the vagina is termed as vulvovaginal candidiasis.
Causes of Yeast infection
• Stress: - stress can be of any type not having enough time to rest and relax, heavy schedules, family conflicts, broken heart sadness or depression.

• Antibiotics: Few antibiotics destroy or kill good bacteria in our body. As these bacteria used to keep a check on the growth of Candida in the vagina yeast infection flourishes.
• When a women’s blood sugar is high it can be the cause of yeast infection
• Hormonal changes:- Yeast infections are also likely to show right before any girl gets periods because of the hormonal changes that comes with the menstrual cycle
Prevention of Yeast infection
• Keeping vaginal area clean, by washing it regularly while taking shower.
• Keep your vaginal area moist free by drying it completely after a shower or bath and toilet.
• Wipe from front to back after using the toilet. This helps prevent the bacteria that normally live in your rectum from getting into your vagina.
• Wear cotton underpants or panties
• Don't wear pantyhose or leotards every day.
• Should not share towels and washcloths
• Wash your under garments in hot water and skip the fabric softener in the dryer
• Avoid tight clothing near vaginal area
• Always change out of your exercise clothes or as soon as you can
• avoid using scented sanitary napkins and Change your sanitary pads or tampons frequently .
• Try not to use heavy scented soaps, perfumes and talcum powder.
• Use antibiotics only when necessary .
• avoid processed foods, sugars and alcohol
• Consume vegetables, protein and grains more in your diet and consume yogurt that has live acidophilus bacteria;
• During sex try using a water soluble lubricating jell and.
• If you have a yeast infection use condom while having sex
• avoid sex if you feels painful and make sure your vagina is well lubricated during sex.
• avoid using colored or perfumed toilet paper
Treatment of Yeast infection:-
Treatment of yeast infection is not very complex. It’s always better to visit your doctor for the right diagnosis. Doctor would prescribe a urine test. If you have a yeast infection
Your doctor will prescribe a vaginal cream, pill, or suppository to cure it. A suppository comes with an applicator with the help of which you can place the medicine inside your vagina. Medicine in a cream form can also be put on your vulva to help relieve itching. Medicine in a pill form that you take by mouth is also available.
This medication can clear up your symptoms in a couple of days and cure the infection within a week. If you stop taking the medicine in between or till the doctor prescribed you to take you can have infection again.
