Gynecology or gynecology literally means 'the science of women', Women have special health needs that require special treatments.
Gynecological (GYN) conditions are common in women living with HIV and AIDS. They affect a woman’s reproductive organs including the ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, vagina, cervix and vulva.For women living with HIV, GYN conditions can be more frequent, serious and difficult to treat. Certain gynecological (GYN) conditions are more common, If left untreated, some GYN infections can develop into more serious conditions such as Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) or cervical cancer.
Research has been made on many disorders that affect the organs in a woman's abdominal and pelvic areas. In general, most of these disorders don't directly affect a woman's changes of getting pregnant naturally.
Certain gynecological (GYN) conditions are more common, more serious and/or more difficult to treat in HIV+ women than HIV- women. If left untreated, some GYN infections can develop into more serious conditions such as Pelvic Inflammatory Disease (PID) or cervical cancer.
