Endocrine System Problems
The Endocrine system can be defined as a “Complex group of glands”. Glands are group of cells that makes hormones. These hormones help to control behavior in our body. In our body there are number of hormones that controls the body’s reproduction system, growth, temperature and digestion………etc.
The Endocrine Gland released a hormone that changes the activity of cells from other system.
The endocrine glands contain the parathyroid, thyroid, ovaries, pancreas, adrenal, testes, hypothalamus and pituitary.
Hypothalamus- It is located in the brain .it regulate the function of other endocrine glands.
Pituitary gland - It is located in the brain, it is also known as “Master Gland “.It produces the hormone that controls the other endocrine glands and number of bodily process.
Thymus – Thymus is a part of body’s immune system and located behind the breastbone.
Pineal gland- Pineal gland produces the melatonin and located in the base of the brain.
Thyroid - Bone growth, Metabolism and some other functions are controlled by thyroid .It is a butter fly shaped organ that is placed in the neck.
Pancreas – It produces the hormones that control the use of glucose by body. Pancreas is situated in the abdomen.
Adrenal glands – Number of two adrenal glands are found in our body which is situated on top of each kidneys. Adrenal glands produce hormones that control the body’s nervous system,
characteristics, blood chemicals, and metabolism.
Parathyroids – It controls the calcium level in the blood, it is situated in the thyroid.
Ovaries in women – It controls the sexual functions.
Testes in men- It also controls the sexual development and functions.
The endocrine system is vary complex system of our body so there are number of diseases related to this system. Some are given below –
