Usher Syndrome
INFORMATION ON USHER SYNDROME:-
Usher syndrome may be defined as a most common condition that involves both hearing and vision impartment. Usher syndrome is disorder that has more than one feature or symptom.
CAUSES OF USHER SYNDROME:-
Mutation of gene may be considered to be one of the reasons behind development of usher syndrome.
SYMPTOMS OF USHER SYNDROME:-
The various symptoms of usher syndrome are:-
1. Deaf.
2. Night blindness.
3. Balancing problem.
4. Hearing impairment
5. Peripheral vision loss
6. Progressive retinal degeneration
DIAGNOSIS OF USHER SYNDROME:-
Clinically Usher syndrome can be identified by:-
1. Visual fields and electroretinogram (ERG).
2. Retinal examination.
3. Hearing tests.
4. Balance tests.
TREATMENT OF USHER SYNDROME:-
Presently, there is no cure for Usher syndrome. The best treatment involves early identification of Usher syndrome in order to begin educational programs. The exact nature of these educational programs will depend on the severity of the hearing and vision impairments as well as the age and abilities of the individual.
