INFORMATION ON TONSILLITIS:-

Tonsillitis can be defined as a infection of the tonsils. Tonsillitis mostly occurs as a part of a throat infection. There are various types of tonsillitis-
1) Acute tonsillitis
2) Recurrent tonsillitis
3) Chronic tonsillitis
4) Peritonsillar abscess

CAUSES OF TONSILLITIS:-

There are many bacterial and viral causes of tonsillitis. Common causes are given below-

1) Streptococcus pyogenes
2) Epstein-Barr virus
3) cytomegalovirus
4) adenovirus
5) measles virus

SYMPTOMS OF TONSILLITIS:-

Symptoms of Tonsillitis are given below-

1) Fever
2) Chills
3) Tiredness
4) Muscle aches
5) Earache
6) Pain or feel uncomfort when swalloing
7) Headache
8) loss of appetite
 

TREATMENT OF TONSILLITIS:-

Tonsillitis caused by some bacterial or viral infection. Antibiotics medications are used in the treatment of tonsillitis to reduce the bacterial infection. Antibiotics are not more effective in the case of viral infection. Viral infection can be treated with antiviral medications.

PREVENTION FORM TONSILLITIS:-

Take fallowing precautions to reduce the chances of tonsillitis –

1) Do not share toothbrushes, drinking glass ……etc with a tonsillitis patient.
2) Wash your hands properly
3) When you cough or sneeze, always cover your mouth
4) Always keep your distance with tonsillitis patient
