Thyroid Cancer
INFORMATION ON THYROID CANCER:-
Thyroid cancer may be defined as disease that occurs when abnormal cells begin to grow in the thyroid gland. Thyroid cancer is a rare type of cancer. Most people who have thyroid cancer recover very fast, because thyroid cancer is usually found early and treated effectively.
CAUSES OF THYROID CANCER:-
Doctors do not know the exact cause of thyroid cancer. However, scientists observed that thyroid cancer affects women two to three times as often as men and occurs more frequently in whites than in blacks.
SYMPTOMS OF THYROID CANCER:-
The most common symptoms of thyroid cancer are:-
1. Lump.
2. Or nodule in the neck.
3. Pain is seldom.
4. Tight or full feeling in the neck.
5. Difficulty in breathing.
6. Swallowing.
7. Hoarseness.
8. Swollen lymph nodes.
DIAGNOSIS OF THYROID CANCER:-
1. Blood test.
2. MRI.
TREATMENT OF THYROID CANCER:-
Surgery is the most commonly used for the treatment for thyroid cancer that has not spread to different parts of the body. The surgeon usually removes part or entire thyroid and any other affected tissue, such as lymph nodes.
Surgery may not be recommended when a subject is found to have thyroid cancer that has spread. Treatment usually includes some form of systemic therapy such as chemotherapy, radioactive iodine therapy, or hormone therapy.
