Rhinophyma

INFORMATION ON RHINOPHYMA:-

Hypertrophy of the nose is known as a Rhinophyma. Its alternative names are Bulbous nose, phymatous rosasea.

CAUSES OF RHINOPHYMA:-

It is assumed that heavy alcohol consumption results the formation of an enlarged and red nose but Rhinophyma can be occurs equally in those people who never drinks. It mainly occurs in men after 40 years.
The main cause of Rhinophyma is unknown .We can say that it is a severe condition of rosasea. This disease results the presence of many oil glands and thickening of the skin on the nose.

SYMPTOMS OF RHINOPHYMA:-

The main sign is abnormal appearance of nose .Other symptoms are given below-

1) Waxy, yellow surface
2) reddish
3) Bulb shape
4) Thickening

TREATMENT OF RHINOPHYMA:-

Treatment of Rhinophyma can be done in two ways -

1) Surgical reshaping of the nose (by scalpel, laser or dermabrasion)
2) Acne medication accutane
3) Antibiotics are also useful in the treatment of Rhinophyma
