Pharyngitis

INFORMATION ON PHARYNGITIS:-
Pharyngitis is an inflammation of throat that causes sore throat, fever, infection of the tonsils. It is very painful inflammation of pharynx. It is also known as sore throat .this is mainly occurs in children and young people. It is characterized by  trouble swallowing and throat pain .
CAUSES OF PHARYNGITIS:-
Fallowing are the common causes of pharyngitis –

1) Viral infection
2) Bacterial infection
3) Fungal infection
4) Smoking
5) parasitic infection
6) allergies
7) pollution and some other environmental factor
8) Muscle strain

HIV infection
9)
Tumors

SYMPTOMS OF PHARYNGITIS:-

The Symptoms of pharyngitis depend upon the causes of the infection and the person who have affected –

1)
Fever
2) Sore throat
3) Headache
4) Vomiting
5) Pain in stomach
6) not feeling well
7) Reduction in appetite
8) Nausea
 

TREATMENT OF PHARYNGITIS:-

Nonprescription pain relievers (such as aspirin) are very useful in the treatment of pharyngitis. Another treatment technique is gargling. Take a glass of warm water with half tea spoon salt; this may give you temporarily relief. Antibiotics are given in the case of bacterial infection. Viral infection can not be treated by antibiotics. It clears up by its own.

PREVENTION OF PHARYNGITIS:-

Prevention of sore throat or pharyngitis includes -

1) Wash your hands properly
2) Avoid contact with other people who have sore throat
3) Use humidifier
