Facial Injuries

INFORMATION ON FACIAL INJURIES:-
Facial injuries refer to an abnormality of the face or the head. Facial injuries may be result of abnormal growth patterns of the face or skull, which involves soft tissue and bones.


CAUSES OF FACIAL INJURIES:-
The events which are responsible for the development of facial injuries are:-

1. Sports or recreational activities, such as ice hockey, basketball, rugby, soccer, or martial arts.
2. Work-related tasks or projects around the home.
3. Motor vehicle crashes.
4. Accidental falls.
5. Fights.


SYMPTOMS OF FACIAL INJURIES:-
1. Difficulty breathing, talking, or swallowing.
2. Cut or puncture wound.
3. Jaw injury.
4. Bruising or discoloration behind your ears, around your eyes, or under your tongue.
5. Numbness or tingling.
6. Neck Pain


DIAGNOSIS OF FACIAL INJURIES:-
1. Visual inspection of face.
2. X-rays of skull.


TREATMENT OF FACIAL INJURIES:-
Treatment for a facial injury may include first aid measures, medication, and in some cases, surgery.

Treatment depends on:-

1. The location of injury, type of injury, and severity of the injury.
2. How long ago the injury occurred.
3. Age, health condition of the subject.

When subject suffers from a facial injury, it is necessary to look for signs of other injuries, such as a spinal injury, eye injury, or an injury to the mouth, such as a cut lip or injured tooth.
