Esophagus Disorder
INTRODUCTION TO ESOPHAGUS DISORDER:-
Esophagus disorder is a condition that arises when capability of esophagus in moving food to stomach decreases due to which the relaxation time of esophagus decreases during swalloing. This relaxation of esophagus is very much important in order to supply food to stomach.
Esophagus disorder is a rare disorder that occur in middle age person or adult.
CAUSE OF ESOPHAGUS DISORDER:-
The factors which are responsible for the development of esophagus disorder are:-
1. failure of the LES to relax during swalloing.
2. loss of the wave like contractions of smooth muscles that forces food through the digestive tract.
3. lack of nervous stimulation to the esophagus.
SYMTOMS OF ESOPHAGUS DISORDER:-
1. difficult to swallo liquid & solid.
2. increase in chest pain with consuption of food.
3. heartburn.
4. cough.
5. weight loss.
DIAGNOSIS OF ESOPHAGUS DISORDER:-
Clinically esophagus disorder can be identified by:-
1. X-ray
2. endoscopy.
3. esophageal manometry.
TREATMENT OF ESOPHAGUS DISORDER:-
Prevention from esophagus disorder can be achieved by undergoing following types of treatments:-
1) Medicinal treatment includes the consumption of drugs like Nifedipine, which reduces muscles contraction. Use of injection like Botulinum toxin which is used in order to relax muscles. But in the case of injection problem again develop with in 1-2 year.
2) Operational treatment is carried out by use of Esophagomyotomy surgical process. This surgical procedure cuts the sphincter muscle to allow the esophagus to open.
