Canker Sores

INFORMATION ON CANKER SORES:-
Cankers sores may be defined as the small ulcer located inside mouth and often make eating and talking painful.
Canker sores can be categorized as:-

1. Simple canker sore.
2. Complex canker sore.


Simple canker sore can develop inside mouth twice a year and possesses tendency to last for atleast a week.

Complex canker sore have a tendency to develop in those who already suffered from it atleast one time.


CAUSES OF CANKER SORES:-
The main factors which leads to the development of canker sores are:-

1. Acidic content of food stuff like fruits and vegetables.
2. Sharp edge of teeth or braces of teeth.
3. Tissue injury.
4. Use of non-steroidal drugs.
5. Week immune system.
6. Nutritional problem.


SYMPTOMS OF CANKER SORE:-
1. Painful sores on tong, cheeks.
2. Burning sensation.
3. Fever.
4. Swelling on lymph nodes.



TREATMENT OF CANKER SORES:-
Generally canker sore may not require treatment. Canker sore vanishes automatically within a week, it do not require any treatment. But if size of canker sore is big and painful and last for more than 2-3 weeks then immediate doctor attention is must.
Doctor may prescribe antimicrobial mouth rinse, a corticosteroid ointment to reduce pain and irritation.
