Foodborne Illness

INFORMATION ON FOODBORNE ILLNESS:-

Foodborne illness occurs as a result of consumption of contaminated food which contains bacteria and other parasite or viruses.
Food borne disease found in subject as a result of his/her negligence while making choice of food to be eaten.


CAUSES OF FOODBORNE ILLNESS:-

The main cause of Foodborne illness is presence of bacteria like salmonella, shigella & escherichia.


SYMPTOMS OF FOODBORNE ILLNESS:-

1. Diarrhea.
2. Dehydration.
3. Vomiting.
4. Abdominal cramp.
5. Nausea.
6. Fever.

DIAGNOSIS OF FOODBORNE ILLNESS:-

Doctor may diagnose for Foodborne illness by asking you detail of what u have eaten before developing symptoms. Clinical diagnosis can be carried out by examination of feces.


PREVENTION OF FOODBORNE ILLNESS:-

In order to prevent Foodborne illness doctor will prescribe you lot of intake of water in order to maintain balance of water level in body. This can be carried out in addition to electrolytic solution to avoid dehydration.

In the most severe situations, such as HUS, the patient may need hospitalization in order to receive supportive nutritional and medical therapy
