Fecal Incontinence
INFORMATION ON FECAL INCONTINENCE:-
Fecal incontinence is physical condition of a sufferer when he/she losses the control over bowel. When the subject feels to urge a bowel movement, he/she may not able to hold the control until he/she gets to a toilet.
CAUSE OF FECAL INCONTINENCE:-
1. Constipation.
2. Damage to anal muscles.
3. Loss of storage capacity of rectum.
4. Diarrhea.
5. Damage to the nerves of anal muscles.
SYMPTOMS OF FECEL INCONTINENCE:-
The only symptom of the fecel incontinence is inability to control of bowel.
DIAGNOSIS OF FECEL INCONTINENCE:-
The diagnosis that is been carried to predict fecel incontinence are:-
1. Anal manometry.
2. Anorectal Ultrasonography.
3. Proctography or defecography.
4. Proctosigmoidiscopy.
5. Anal electromyography test.
PREVENTION FROM FECEL INCONTINENCE:-
Prevention from fecel incontinence can be done based on the severity of the disease. For low degree of severity doctor may suggest to change dietary plan and will prescribe medicines with bowel training.
1. Medicinal treatment.
2. Operational treatment.
MEDICINAL TREATMENT OF FECEL INCONTINENCE:-
Medicinal treatment of fecel incontinence includes intake of drugs like laxatives if diarrhea is the cause. Or doctor may prescribe anti diarrheal medicines such as loperamide diphenoxylate etc.
OPERATIONAL TREATMENT OF FECEL INCONTINENCE:-
The operational treatment of fecel incontinence is carried when severity of disease is more and damage or injury anal canal is more. Surgery like colostomy is generally preferred.
