INFORMATION ON  DUODENAL ULCER:-

The main function of duodenal is to prepare mucus and chemicals which covers the surface and protect tissues from attack of acid. When acid breaks the barrier of protection of tissue then it results in the development of duodenal ulcer.


CAUSES OF DUODENAL ULCER:-

1. The bacterium (bug) affects the lining of the duodenum as result of which acid breaks the barrier of protection and hence cause inflammation & ulcer.
2. Consumption of anti- inflammatory medicines like aspirin, ibrufen, affects the lining of the duodenum & allows the acid to cause ulcers.
3. The other reason of duodenal ulcer is excess production of acid in the stomach.
4. Drinking alcohol excessively.
5. Smoking & chewing tobacco.


SYMPTOMS OF DUODENAL ULCERS:-

1. Pain in the upper abdomens.
2. Felling sick.
3. Bleeding from ulcers.
4. Heartburn.
5. Nausea.
6. Vomiting.
7. Chest pain.
8. Bloody or dark tarry stool.


DIAGNOSIS OF DUODENAL ULCERS:-

The diagnosis of duodenal ulcer can be carried out by:-
1. Endoscopy.
2. Test for verification of H.pylori bacterium, which is done with the help of biopsy.
3. Hemoglobin test.

PREVENTION FROM DUODENAL ULCER:-

Prevention against duodenal ulcer can be carried out on a subject by following methods:-

1. Medicinal treatment.
2. Operational treatment.

MEDICINAL TREATMENT OF DUODENAL ULCER:-

The medicinal treatment of duodenal ulcer is carried out in order to kill bacterium H.pylori &also to reduce acid level in stomach. Duodenal ulcer can be treated by using combination of drugs like antibiotic, cimetdine, ranitidine, sucralfate etc.

OPERATIONAL TREATMENT OF DUODENAL ULCER:-

For duodenal ulcer there is no surgery required as disease can be easily cured by medicine as prescribed by concern doctor.
