Constipation
INFORMATION ON CONSTIPATION:-
Constipation is an abnormal condition of digestive system. Constipation results in lesser bowel movement i.e.: less than three times a week. As a result of constipation stools are usually get hard, dry, small in size & difficult to eliminate. Constipation also results in painful bowel movement.
CAUSE OF CONSTIPATION:-
1. Too much absorption of water by colon.
2. Not enough fiber in the diet.
3. Lack of physical activity.
4. Medication.
5. Milk.
6. Frequent change in life routine.
7. Ignoring the urge to have a bowel movement.
8. Dehydration.
9. Specific diseases or condition like stroke.
SYMPTOMS OF CONSTIPATION:-
Constipation is symptom to other disease and not a disease so there is no such symptoms persist.
DIAGNOSIS OF CONSTIPATION:-
1. By identifying eating habits of a subject.
2. Rectal examination.
3. Blood test.
4. Thyroid test.
5. A defecography.
6. Barium enema x-ray.
7. Colonoscopy.
PREVENTION OF CONSTIPATION:-
In order to prevent constipation doctor may suggest subject to eat at least 20-30 grams of fiber in his/her diet.
Lots of intake of water in a day. If a subject does not get relief from constipation then doctor may suggest to under go surgical process in which colon is removed completely.
