Celiac Disease

INFORMATION ON CELIAC DISEASE:-

Celia disease is disease of small intestine. Celia disease  is carried out by immunological (allergic) reaction within the inner lining of the small intestine. This immunological reaction causes inflammation that destroys the inner lining of the small intestine.

SYNOMS OF CELIAC DISEASE:-

1. Sprue.
2. Non-tropical Sprue.
3. Adult celiac disease.
4. Gluten entropathy.

CAUSES OF CELIAC DISEASE:-

Celiac disease can be found in subject’s body from his/ her parents. Severe stress, physical injuries, infection, child birth or surgery can result in celiac disease.


SYMPTOMS OF CELIAC DISEASE:-
1. Absorption of dietary nutrients like fat, carbohydrate, proteins get reduced.
2. Diarrhea.
3. Abdominal pain.
4. Anemia.
5. Weight loss & fluid retention.
6. Muscles weakness.

DIAGNOSIS OF CELIAC DISEASE:-

1. Small intestinal biopsy.
2. Specific anti-body test.

PREVENTION OF CELIAC DISEASE:-

There is no particular treatment for celiac disease but the subject is treated by restricting him/her from gluten contain diet. Gluten free diet means restricting subject from diet containing wheat, rye, barley, oats etc.

Processed food that contains gluten may also be avoided. Avoiding beer is also an important procedure for treatment of celiac disease.

Sometimes doctors may also suggest not to take whiskey, brandy, rum etc.
It is favorable to take meat, fish, chicken, soybean, rice, potatoes and dairy products.
