5. Liver functioning test.
6. Biopsy.
PREVENTION OF CAROLI DISEASE:-
Prevention of Caroli disease can be prevented by two methods:
1. Medicinal treatment.
2. Operational treatment.
Medicinal treatment of Caroli Disease:-
Medicinal treatment of Caroli disease can be done with the help of antibiotics when the subject is in very early stage of Caroli disease.
Antibiotics with broad spectrum agent are very important.
Operational treatment of Caroli Disease:-
Operational procedure of Caroli disease includes the drainage procedure with endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) or percutaneous transhepatic cholangiography (PTC).
Sphincterotomy can aid biliary drainage and stone removal. Liver transplantation can also come into play. This is the best alternative when recurrent cholangitis is not present.
