Kaposi Sarcoma
DEFINITION
Kaposi’s sarcoma is often connected with AIDS, It is malignant tumor of the connective tissue.
SYMPTOMS
The symptoms of this disease are bluish-red, flat or raised injury with indefinite shape. The bleeding starts from gastrointestinal injury. The breath is short due to injury in the lung and sometimes bloody sputum oozes from injury in the lung.
CAUSES
The person who is suffering from AIDS, the injury can develop rapidly and involve the skin, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, and other organs. Kaposi’s sarcoma is caused through an interaction between immune system suppression and HIV. Occurrence of this disease has linked to sexual transmission of HIV and HHV-8.
The tumors consist of bluish-red or purple injury on the skin. It first appears on the feet or ankles, thighs, arms, hands, face, or other part of the body.
TREATMENT
The treatment depends on the location of the injury, as well as the person’s symptoms. The only way is the antiviral therapy against the AIDS virus can shrink the injury.
