Acrochordons
DEFINITION
Cutaneous skin tags (Acrochordons) is a skin condition which involves small, normally simple skin growths.
SYMPTOMS
The only symptom which is found, is a growth on the skin. The growth (tag) is generally small, although some may be up to a half-a-inch long.Cutaneous skin tags are located on the armpits, neck, trunk, body folds or other region of the body, usually skin becomes darker.
CAUSES
Cutaneous skin tags are very simple skin growth that occurs mostly after 40- 45years.The tags stick out of the skin and had a small narrow tail which connects the skin bump to the dermis of the skin.Cutaneous skin tags are normally painless and do not produce or change. It can be irritating by friction of clothes or other materials. The person suffering from diabetes and overweight are easy victim of Cutaneous skin tags.
TREATMENT
Treatment is not given unless the Cutaneous skin tags becomes irritating or are cosmetically distressing. The growth can be surgically detached, or by freezing or by electrically burning off(Cautery).
