Acne
Symptoms
Range of Acne is from mild to extremely severe. Yet, even mild acne can create problems, especially to teenagers, who observe each pimple as a major cosmetic challenge.
Acne is a common skin condition which produces pimples on the face and upper body
Causes
The main cause of acne is interaction between hormones, skin oils, and bacteria those results in inflammation of hair follicles. Acne occurs mainly on the face, upper chest, shoulders, and back and is characterized by pimples and cysts. Cysts are pus-filled pockets.
Sebaceous glands, which secrete an oily substance which lie in the dermis, the middle layer of the skin. These glands are attached to the hair follicles. The sebum, with dead skin cells, passes up from the sebaceous gland and hair follicle and comes out to the surface of the skin through the pores.
When a collection of dried sebum, dead skin cells, and bacteria clog the hair follicles, then Acne is formed. This blocks the sebum from leaving through the pores. If the blockage is not complete, a blackhead develops; if the blockage is complete, a whitehead develops. The resulting inflammation and infection produce the skin eruptions that are commonly known as acne pimples. Significant and a source of psycho logic stress.
Treatment
General care of acne is very simple. The areas which are affected should be gently washed once or twice a day with a mild soap. Antibacterial soaps, alcohol pads, and heavy frequent scrubbing provide no added benefit and may further irritate the skin. Cosmetics should be water-based; although there are no restrictions on specific foods stuff (for example, burger or chocolate), a healthy, balanced diet can be taken.
Acne treatment depends on the severity of the condition. Mild acne requires the simple treatment, which poses the little risks of side effects. More severe acne does not respond to Initial treatment requires additional treatment.
Mild Acne –Anti-bacteria like clindamycin and erythromycin.
Severe Acne
Some anti-septic are reserved for the treatment of severe acne. People may need to take one of these drugs for long time or even years to prevent a recurrence. Some of these drugs can develop potentially serious side effects, so monitoring by a doctor is must.
