TOOTH INFECTION

Tooth infection is also known as periapical abscess, dental abscess, tooth infection, abscess – tooth. A tooth abscess is a collection of infected material (pus) resulting from bacterial infection of the center (pulp) of a tooth.

Causes of tooth infection

A tooth infection is usually caused by a dead tooth. Infection may spread out from the root of the tooth and to the bones supporting the tooth. This infection results in a collection of pus and swelling of the tissues within the tooth. This causes a painful toothache. There is a chance that the root of the tooth dies and toothache may stop but infection remains active and continues to spread and destroy tissue.

Signs and symptoms

the symptoms of tooth infection are given below-

1)
Toothache is a first sign of tooth infection.
2)
When you chew something you feel pain.
3) Bad breathe
4)
there is some swollen area in the upper and lower jaw in this disease.
5) Fever can be possible in this disease.
6) Feel bitter taste of the mouth.

Treatment of tooth infection

To eliminate the infection, treatment is necessary.  Antibiotics may be helpful for removal of infection. Do not place aspirin directly over the tooth, it increases the irritation, which can cayuse of mouth ulcer. root canal tharepy is another treatment procedure to preserve the teeth. In this tharepy  the infected tissue in the central part of the tooth pulp is removed.

To prevent continued infection, the area is then sealed. Sometimes Surgery is needed to remove the infected material from the bony tissue around the root. Some times the root canal therapy is not successful in that case the tooth usually has to be pulled. Antibiotics can help only for temporarily relief .It is not possible that tooth infection can be permanently treated without root canal therapy or the removal of the tooth.
