Gingivitis is the mildest form of periodontal (gum) disease. Gingivitis is an inflammation of gums, which is caused by the build up of plaque due to improper cleaning of teeth.
Causes of Gingivitis
Gingivitis is an indication of poor oral health. Smoking, genetic predisposition, aging, stress, low nutrition, hormonal fluctuations, HIV infection, pregnancy are some other factors that may cause the gingivitis. 3) Appearance of your gums is bright red or red- purple

There is need to good oral hygiene for prevention against gingivitis.
