Causes of dry mouth

If blockage of the salivary ducts is the reason of dry mouth then there is need to find the cause of blockage. By controlling the systemic diseases like anemia and diabetes, dry mouth problems can be automatically controlled. To initiate salivary flow Bitters are useful. Commercial saliva substitutes can be used frequently as needed.
Prevention
Avoid the use of alcoholic beverages and mouthwashes containing alcohol. Water and healthy fruit juice can decrease the dry mouth problems. To stimulate saliva flow you can use chewing gum and lemon drops. Routine dental checkups are necessary for your oral health.
