Chemical Face Peel

As the person’s age increases, the facial wrinkles, effects of sun exposure, acne, appears on the face .The sun exposure can damage our skin and cause us to look older than we are. Most of the people want to improve the texture of their skin, remove facial wrinkling, hyperpigmentation abnormalities of the face. Such skin damage and wrinkles can be removed and treated with chemical facial peels, a non-surgical procedure which produces smoother, clearer skin and can help us to get a younger appearance. In chemical peel process a layer of skin is removed with a chemical preparation.

Chemical peels can be performed on the face, neck, chest, arms, hands, and legs.

Different types of chemical peel are - superficial, medium and deep. Superficial chemical peels are easy to apply and the time needed is also minimal. A full-face deep chemical peel takes 1 to 2 hours to perform.

Trichloroacetic acids (TCA). TCA solution is generally used in medium chemical peel. It is used for skin with moderate sun damage, surface wrinkles, or uneven tone or pigment abnormalities.

The solution used in deep cosmetic skin peel is a phenol-croton oil mixture. This solution should be used with caution as it can cause permanent lightening of the skin. It is applied with cotton swabs on the area to be treated. There is a slight burning sensation. Shortly after the solution is applied, the skin becomes white and then turns red.

Depending upon the type of chemical facial peel the recovery time may vary. After few days of procedure completion a new bright pink color skin emerges which become normal after few days.
