High Blood Pressure

Introduction on High Blood Pressure:

Arteries supplies nutritious and oxy blood from heart to all organs of the body and the pressure in blood is known as blood pressure. The situation in which the blood pressure becomes high in these arteries, referred as High Blood Pressure. The medical term for High blood pressure is "Hypertension". Hypertension is very common and well known disease related to heart.

The unit for measuring blood pressure is millimeters of mercury (mmhg). 120/80mmhg is the blood pressure which is normally found in a healthy people. 120, the larger number denoted that the blood pressure in the arteries when heart contracts means at systolic and 80 represent the blood pressure at diastolic or heart relaxation. High blood pressure is the condition in which blood pressures will be 140/90mmhg or above this.

Causes & Symptoms :

The age for high blood pressure or hypertension is not as such defined, it may be happen in adult or in children also but it's generally found over age 40. Diabetes, kidney disease, blood vessel diseases, high cholesterol level and other health problems are main causes of Hypertension. Generally high blood pressure or hypertension does not shows any warning signs so that person feel healthy and perfectly fine that is why high blood pressure often referred as a Silent Killer.

Treatment :

An effective and fast treatment is required for high blood pressure otherwise it may increase your other problems also. If a person is diagnosed that he/she has high blood pressure, then first of all change your life style because it will play an important role to normalize your high blood pressure. If a person with hypertension or high blood pressure is overweight then physical activity is must. Green leafy vegetables, fresh fruits, and low-fat dairy foods should be in daily use. Finally keep one thing in your mind that don't stop medication without asking to your doctor even if you are feeling well because in many cases, person feel healthy with hypertension at low stage.
